Picks are going right now. Baylor and SMU in the second round could be interesting. Hard game for Baylor.

Wow, 3 Big 8 teams in the Midwest. Those two make me the most nervous as a Kansas fan. ISU in the Sweet 16 and OSU in the Elite 8? I'd love it.

Michigan State in the second round is going to be tricky too. You never know with this tournament. Just roll the dice and hope it works its way.

Ridiculous K-State and Wichita St have lower seeds than Vanderbilt.

The South is just brutal. Some great match ups if they don't have too many upsets.

I just realized OSU is a 10 seed. I thought they were the 7. Man Big 12 really got disrespected. Especially considering Vanderbilt. Time to prove them wrong.

The committee putting us up against Danny Manning wasn't a mistake. I hate our draw. Sorry fellas, I don't predict will get by Wake Forest. The heck with the committee. That is a complete gotcha game. All my coworkers are chickenhawks. Not looking forward to this. Weber better win this game.

While I'd have rather been the 7, I'm happy we got a 10 instead of an 8 or 9. Beating a 10 is not much tougher, if at all, than an 8 or 9, and I like our chances vs the 2's better than any of the 1's. I see this as giving us a decent shot at making the Sweet 16, an 8/9 probably wouldn't have.

I think the draw sets up really well for WVU among the Big 12 schools. They should be able to out-talent Bucknell in round 1. And it's really tough to beat Press Virginia without a lot of familiarity or prep time in round 2. So if WVU gets past that, then they probably get a Gonzaga opponent that hasn't been legitimately challenged in months. So Huggins could end up in a regional final fairly easily, I think.

And I could easily see KU having to get through Iowa State and Oklahoma State in the Midwest. Michigan State in round 2 is tough, but I don't think it would sneak up on the Jayhawks the way Sparty does sometimes.

I wouldn't be happy to see OSU as a 10 seed if I were either Michigan or Louisville. I think Louisville is over-seeded. I haven't been that impressed with them this year. Pokes get past the Cards and they're probably looking at a beatable Creighton or Oregon in the Sweet 16 game.

K-State's draw is tough. I think Wake is a really tough match-up in the play-in game. Cincinnati right after would be tough, too.

Baylor's draw is tough, too. SMU is a really tricky 2nd round game. And if they get past that, then Duke (with more good wins than any team in the country) is probably waiting on them.

K-State gets past Wake. History suggests at least one of the "first four" winners makes some bracket noise. Maybe Bruce Weber wins a couple more games and earns himself a contract extension.

Notre Damn is a terrible matchup for us though. They don't turn the ball over and they the best free throw shooting team in the nation. We have to hope for a Princeton upset. That should be a much better opponent for us.

Otherwise, I agree with that entire assessment.

I have WVU going to the Elite 8 and losing to Arizona. Would love to see them go further.

Hope I am wrong, but I think winning the Big 12 tourney has been a major curse the last 5 or 6 years. Pretty sure the Norfolk, UAB, and Stanford games all happened for the champion. When I said I was glad that KU lost in the 1st game I was dead serious. Not guaranteeing success by not playing deep into the conference tourney, but the idea of playing 3 or 4 games straight when everybody is beaten down and then turn around to play the hardest games of the year is insane.

Again, I hope I am wrong for ISU's sake, but I don't have them making it out of the first game against Nevada..

Got Baylor going to 32 losing to SMU
KSU going to 32 losing to UCLA
OSU going 16 but had them going to 8 but chickened out.
and of course KU winning it all. I could easily see this team go either way, but whats the point in doing this if you don't choose your team, at least as a high seed.

    So a 64, 32, 32, 16, 8, 1. I'll take that.

    Good luck!!!

Looks like ISU is going to prove my theory wrong.

Good games so far for the Big 12. If ISU holds on we go 3-0

Come on Pokes. Prove Nate Silver's losing streak is still going strong.

Everyone time OSU has pulled back to within one possession, Michigan has hit a dagger 3.

Damn!!! Hell of an effort. Michigan just made clutch free throws.

Damn... Great game. Future is seriously bright for OSU. Screw Michigan.

I had a pretty good connection to the Mizzou AD at one time. John Beilein supposedly wanted that Mizzou job pretty bad back when they were replacing Quinn Snyder. There was some kind of family connection for him or something. Great, great coach.
